LEVITRA When a man is sexually aroused, certain tissues in his penis relax. This allows large amounts of blood to flow in, thus producing an erection. Levitra helps by elevating the levels of the chemical that causes the tissues to relax. Levitra acts in the same way as Viagra, by blocking an enzyme called phosphodiesterase-5, or PDE-5. This helps the smooth muscles in the penis to relax, which effectively increases blood flow.

HOW TO USE: Levitra is taken orally when needed between 4.30 hrs and 30 minutes before sexual activity. Take Levitra only as directed, usually once daily as needed. Levitra works along with sexual stimulation to help achieve an erection.

SIDE EFFECTS: Headache, flushing , upset stomach, stuffy nose, urinary tract infection, visual changes such as mild and temporary changes in blue/green colors or increased sensitivity to light, and diarrhea.

PRECAUTIONS: One should have a complete medical history and exam to determine the cause of his impotence before taking Levitra. Men who have medical conditions that may cause a sustained erection such as sickle cell anemia, leukemia or multiple myeloma or who have an abnormally shaped penis may not be able to take Levitra. There are several medications that are known to interact with Levitra, so be sure to tell your doctor about all medications you are taking including those you can get without a prescription. Levitra has not been studied with other treatments for impotence, so use in combination with other treatments is not recommended. Limit alcohol intake, as it may aggravate SIDE EFFECTS of Levitra. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. The elderly may be more sensitive to the SIDE EFFECTS of Levitra; therefore, caution is advised in this group.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Before taking Levitra consult your doctor about all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially any nitrate medications (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate), nitroprusside (any "nitric oxide donor" medicines), cimetidine, erythromycin, azole antifungals (e.g., itraconazole, ketoconazole), mibefradil, rifamycins (e.g., rifampin) or high blood pressure medicines.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN I TAKE LEVITRA?

Currently, there is no cure for erectile dysfunction (ED), but LEVITRA (vardenafil HCI) may be able to help you get and keep an erection.

LEVITRA alone will not give you an erection. You'll need sexual stimulation so you can have successful sex. After you're finished having sex, blood flow to the penis should decrease and your erection should go away.

LEVITRA is a prescription medication approved by the FDA. It's not an over-the-counter herbal or magic pill
It is not a cure for ED

LEVITRA does not increase libido (sexual drive). It's not an aphrodisiac (a substance such as a food or drug that arouses or is believed to arouse sexual desire). It won't make you want to have sex all the time
It should not give you an instant erection. You need sexual simulation for it to work

LEVITRA does not protect a man or his partner from sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV. Speak to your doctor about ways to guard against sexually transmitted diseases

LEVITRA does not serve as a male form of birth control

LEVITRA is only for men with ED. LEVITRA is not for women or children


STORAGE: Store Levitra at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Keep Levitra out of the reach of children.
